A Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Liz uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Focused, Client Centred, Psychodynamic and Brief Solution Focused therapies. Any one or a combination of these may be used appropriate to the needs of the client, based on evidence for best practice. Liz meets for an initial session and decides together with the client on the number of sessions and the type of approach.

Liz respects each client as an individual and views the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client as paramount to effective treatment. All work abides by the ethical code of the British Psychological Society, including strict confidentiality.

Liz can provide psychological/ psychometric assessment.

Issues Working With

Anxiety disorders, OCD, phobias, anger management, depression, self-harm, trauma, bereavement. Liz also specialises in working with adults on the autistic spectrum and individuals with learning disabilities.

• BSc (hons) - Applied Psychology (2001)
• MSc – Counselling Psychology (2005)
• Post MSc – Counselling Psychology (2009)
• Currently completing Professional Doctorate in counselling psychology.

• NHS services - Adult general mental health; GP surgery; trauma; psychosis; learning disability
• Private sector – learning disability/ autism spectrum conditions
